BUTTER is a design-driven interdisciplinary studio rooted in place, materials and craft.

Since our inception, we have strived to create incredible spaces you want to spend time in.

Emphasizing an acute attention to detail and a deep care for the environment, our team strives to harmonize functionality with aesthetics. We believe that each building tells a story, and through thoughtful design, we aim to shape narratives that enhance communities and foster connections. Our commitment to innovative architecture and sustainable practices ensures that every project not only meets the needs of today but also honors the legacy we leave for future generations.

BUTTER, founded in 2025 by Zach Zielke, began with a simple idea: buildings and spaces should be made with care.

We started this studio to design places that feel considered — spaces that respond to how people actually live, work, and move through them. Our work is rooted in the belief that good architecture doesn't have to shout to matter. It just has to be thoughtful.
